Damanjodi is a very beautiful place where you can experience a wonderful weather all around the year. I am living here from past 2 years and tried to gain enough knowledge about this place so that I can tell others.
This place is also known as the Kashmir of ODISHA Because of its cool climate. if you are tired of hauling summers then this place is worth visiting.
Wonderful hills, fresh and pollution free air, very close to nature,

Damanjodi is located in scenic valley covered by Eastern ghats in Odisha State. and has a distance of 199 kms from vishakhapatnam, which is the nearest airport if you want to arrive here by plane.
This place is also famous as The Home town of NALCO (A navratna company of Indian Government where they dig out soil for Aluminium)
This place is not very well connected to other modern cultural cities just because of remoteness and have very few hotels, lodges, food centres etc.
Nalco is a big company, no doubt and that is why people from all around the country come here to work, this statement is claimed by wikipedia but in my opinion 90% of the population is from odisha only and speak "Odia" which is the official language here.
As a non odia i faced lot of difficulties here specially in my college and when I go to vegetable market. Then i start learning few words in Odia like:-
Tonka = rupee
Gote = One
Mu jauchi = I am going
Kemti = How
Bhala = Fine
Mu= Me
Its not that difficult . :D
I am going to stay here for one more year as i am doing my graduation from Aeronautics college, Sunabeda ( located 13 kms away from this place inside the HAL Township which is a living colony for HAL employes)
I take a private bus from mathhalput to reach my college (small place inside damanjodi, best for buying vegetables lol)
Also there are three different sectors in Damanjodi For Nalco employees
Sector 1,2 and 3
These sectors are for Family residence of Nalco employes.
You will not find any good shop for buying cloths, gadgets and all, just few shops..
But that's okay if you are not that shopper like me :)
There is a place 12 kms away from Damanjodi names as "Semliguda" which is the hub for buying stuffs and businesses. Semliguda is a small place mainly a market where you can find all necessary items for household.
